Application Guidelines 
The Colorado Academy of Educators for the Gifted Talented and Creative (CAEGTC) awards three scholarships to teachers who have a demonstrated commitment to a career in Gifted Education. Applicants must be pursuing a graduate degree or endorsement in Gifted Education. The Academy Teacher Scholarship will provide up to  $500 to selected recipients. One scholarship will be awarded in honor of Shirley Weddel, one scholarship in honor of Julie Gonzales and a third scholarship will be awarded on behalf of CAEGTC members in Memoria.  

Eligibility:  To be considered for a CAEGTC Teacher Scholarship, a teacher must: 
  • Hold a current Colorado educator license
  • Be pursuing a graduate degree and/or Gifted & Talented Endorsement 
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to a career directly related to the provision of educational services to gifted children (teaching gifted students, coordinating Gifted Education program, GT resource teacher, twice exceptional teacher, GT counselor, special educator, etc.)

Selection Criteria:
 Applicants are evaluated on the demonstration of potential and commitment to serving the field of Gifted Education. 

 ONE packet of completed materials to be submitted: 
  • Letter of application-  The letter of application is a critical part of the application process and should clearly demonstrate the applicant’s commitment to the field of Gifted Education and to serving GT students. 
  • Two letters of recommendation supporting applicant’s commitment to the field 
  • Copy of Colorado educator license 
  • Transcript (unofficial is acceptable) 
  • Resume 

Timeline: 
​●      Application materials must be submitted by  Date TBD 
●      Please send an email to: scholarship@caegtc.org when the application has been completed. 
●      Scholarship Review Committee reviews applications during November 2022.  
●      Recipients informed TBD.  
●      Recipient acceptance response due by December 15, 2021. 
●      Scholarship funds will be distributed to recipients TBD
●      Submit completed application to: TBD
